Remembering Jacob Kosowsky

God recently reminded me that “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”  Deuteronomy 29:29

Friday morning, October 18 Shon received a phone call early in the morning from our dear friend Steve Kosowsky that would once again shake our family.  Steve and Sharilyn’s 21 year old son, Jacob, was tragically killed in a car accident during the night. As I sat on my couch trying to process the news, I felt God reminding me once again that He numbers our days and that His plans are definitely not mine. And yet, He is good even in suffering. God didn’t reveal to me why He decided it was time for Jacob’s life on earth to end but He has revealed to me the past two months what an impact this young man made not only on his own family, but also to our family, his friends, and even the world.

Jake was such a gift to all of us! His love and compassion for those around him made many think of him as their best friend. His hugs made everyone feel his love surrounding them. His smile warmed our hearts. His thoughtful words made us see the beauty of the world more clearly. His love for God’s creation inspired us to love and care for the world more. His wisdom made us think more deeply on important subjects of life. His kindness encouraged many hearts.  His love for adventure made memories that will never fade for his family and friends. His life gave us hope, joy, faith and love. Thanking God for the 21 years He chose to put Jacob in our lives.

Please pray for Steve, Sharilyn and Jake’s sister, Mia, as they continue to walk through this difficult journey. Your words of love, hope and encouragement may be sent to our FaceBook page or the Team Hally email.

KSU, KU and Team Hally fans and supporters made the trek into Manhattan on Saturday, February 24, 2018, anticipating the sunflower state showdown, as they do for all KSU/KU competitions.

Praise the Lord.  Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

Broken Things

Psalms 147:3
As I have prayed the past couple of weeks about what to share with all of you my soul has been torn between the human feelings of sadness, loss, and disappointment and the heavenly feelings of joy, peace, and hope.  This morning I heard the song “Broken Things” by Matthew West (video below) and immediately God flooded my mind with all He has done with my brokenheart and our broken family the past three years.  So today I would like to share with you the joy and hope that we have because of what Christ did for all of us 2000 years ago.

Team Hally Welcomes 2017

By Newsletter

Welcome 2017!!!  The new year is always hard, but it is exciting to look back from the beginning of Team Hally and see what our group is blossoming into.  As we start the new year, we are taking time to reflect on who Team Hally is and where to continue our focus.

Who is Team Hally?
If you are reading this, YOU are a part of Team Hally!  We want to make sure that we make it clear that everyone who has any connection to Team Hally, IS Team Hally!

What is Team Hally’s main purpose?
Our main purpose is to continue what Hally started by putting Bibles in your hands to look for those who need God’s word.

Where do we give Bibles?
Any opportunities that arise where we see a need.  So far, Team Hally has given Bibles at VBS’ (for 3rd graders and up), to students from Hally’s school, to homeless, at birthday parties, to youth groups, to people who are facing tough times, to cousins, friends, family…

Because EACH of YOU is a part of Team Hally, and our purpose is to give Bibles, our hope is that you will pray about who you could give a Bible to.  Also that you would be willing to keep one or two of the Team Hally Bibles in your car, and pray for an opportunity to give it.  We pray that if you see someone in need, you will get some Bibles from Team Hally and put a Bible into those hands.

We have a wonderful opportunity brought about by a tragic loss.  We have Bibles!  We have the hope that Jesus gives us.

Please pray for God to show you opportunities to give a Bible and also consider keeping a Bible or two in your car for when opportunities arise.
