Bible Reading with Team Hally

By Bible Study

During these unknown days, the one steadfast, unchanging thing for all of us is God.

“for all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass.  The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord remains forever.”  1 Peter 1:24-25.

He wants us to know Him, to spend time with Him, to worship Him, and to trust His goodness so we can glorify Him to the world. He will give us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) when our lives are rooted and grounded in Him. Just as we spend time with those we love, if we love the Lord we should spend time with Him. One of the best ways to spend time with Jesus is by reading your Team Hally Bible.

We are currently reading I Chronicles from the Old Testament. The Bible reading for Team Hally is as simple as the following steps:
1.    Pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you in the reading
2.    Read the chapter given in the Bible Reading Plan
3.    Take notes in a journal on three to five observations you have as you read
4.    Choose a verse that meant the most to you and write it out as well as a short prayer to God about that verse
5.    Share what you read each day with someone you love, and encourage them to read also

Please click to access our current reading plan and post your thoughts on the Team Hally Facebook page.

Discovering the Peaceful Generation in Ethiopia

By Mission Trip

Written by Team Hally Supporter June Duehring

In March 2020 a group from Gardner Fellowship Bible Church spent 10 days experiencing God’s work in Ethiopia. They held a mini-Vacation Bible School at a school called Peaceful Generation. At this school, children from surrounding tribes – which have historically been in conflict with one another – come together and are taught of Christ’s love for all people.

The team brought suitcases of supplies, including 24 Team Hally Bibles. The kids are then able to return to their tribes and are beacons of peace and hope in their communities. Although time in this area was short, witnessing the huge work of reconciliation that God is doing through Peaceful Generation made an incredible impact on the entire team. The Bibles are used to teach the word of God, and are also their primary textbook for learning English.

Seeing how gratefully the gifts were received was extremely humbling to the team. They prayed that the presence of God’s word in these tribes will continuously promote change in the hearts of these people.

Cole’s Special Easter Gift

By Community

Written by Cole’s Mom

I wanted to give our nine year old son Cole a new Bible for Easter.

Mrs. Yust is his Spanish teacher at Mighty Oaks Enrichment Center, and he and Zoey are classmates, so I knew a Team Hally Bible would mean something extra special to him.

He received the Bible Easter morning and when he saw it, he got a huge smile on his face! He opened it and read the front inside cover about Hally’s legacy. He said, “This is so cool!” He loves to read his Bible! We are thankful for this special gift.

Sending Bibles (and Parker!) to the Philippines

By Mission Trip

Pictured above are Parker and the StuMo team in the Philippines during spring break 2020.

Isaiah 6:8 says, “And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am!  Send me!”

Parker Yust will go on staff with the Student Mobilization Ministry (StuMo) beginning this summer and then continue serving on this ministry team in Cebu, Philippines after he completes his support raising, most likely this fall.

He, along, with a team of current StuMo staff from KU and KSU traveled to Cebu over spring break for training, as well as encouragement. Parker was able to leave two Team Hally Bibles with the current staff in the Philippines to be given to some of the native students. His prayer is to distribute many more the next three years as he tells the college students in Cebu the great news of Jesus Christ.

We might do things a little differently this year to help ensure everyone’s health and safety, but you can still count on a big day of fun and fellowship. We hope to see you September 26 in Spring Hill, Kansas!

How Far Have We Come?

By Newsletter

“Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?”  I Chronicles 17:16

If we each look back to what we were doing at the beginning of 2020, could have any of us seen what today in May would look like? So many changes, unknowns, emotions, losses……BUT for most of us when we reflect on a season of grief, we can also find God and joy and peace.  Team Hally was born out of our family’s personal journey through grief and it amazes me that God has continued to use this ministry the past five years, and especially the past couple of months, even when most of us are isolated in our own homes.

We want each of you to know that we have been praying diligently for each of you as well as our country and world!

We would love to come alongside you however we can during the next few months to encourage you personally, to give Bibles for any group, church, mission trip, or maybe just neighbors, to speak to your small group, business, or church about our journey through grief and hope, or to pray for specific prayer requests you might have during these very challenging days.  Please contact us at TeamHally2015@gmail.com if we can encourage you in any way!
