WELCOME TO 2020 WITH TEAM HALLY!

By Bible Study, Dirty Dash

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

As God has revealed a brand new ministry year for Team Hally, we are so excited to see what He will do with each of us, where He will send Bibles this year, and what new opportunities to share Hally’s story with the world will arise. I’m amazed already how God has shown us some open doors this month that we didn’t expect!

Our prayer team was diligently seeking the Lord in how to share our story with the crowd at the annual Team Hally game which took place on Sunday, January 19. Who would have thought that a beanie would be an open door!

This year several Team Hally members helped distribute beanies (hats) that read “Team Hally” on one side and had a K-State powercat logo on the other. The fact that K-State allowed this to happen is almost a miracle in itself, and then God allowed it to be a very cold, windy day so when fans arrived inside the gates they really wanted a warm beanie!

We distributed all 500 beanies in about 15 minutes and had many, many fans who were disappointed they didn’t get one! However, God didn’t stop there! This was the first time that many, many fans were asking what Team Hally was and why we were giving away free beanies. Then when the Yust family attended the Lady Wildcats next home game, there were several fans wearing the beanies. Please continue to pray that some of the fans who received a Team Hally beanie will look us up and maybe even get excited about partnering with us to give out Bibles!

Some other awesome opportunities that we all can look forward to in 2020 are:

  • Delivery of Bibles to a new Spanish-speaking church in Olathe
  • Partnering with new churches for VBS in the Kansas City area, Wichita, Manhattan and Topeka, as well as many churches with whom we already partner
  • Bibles being provided to several mission trips (including Romania and possibly Rwanda)
  • 2020 Dirty Dash – September 26
  • Continued prayer partnership with K-State women’s basketball team
  • Continued Team Hally prayer ministry

PLEASE JOIN US AS WE CONTINUE TO READ GOD’S WORD TOGETHER!

By Bible Study

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

As we are in a new year, would you consider making reading the Bible a part of your daily routine? God loves you and wants to reveal Himself to you! He reveals Himself in the Bible! If you are unsure where to begin, we have a Bible reading plan that will give you a place to start. If you already are faithful in reading God’s Word, but would like to partner with other Team Hally members, we would love for you to join us.

Beginning Saturday, February 1 we will begin 2 Samuel chapter 1. It’s an easy plan! Just set aside a consistent time each day (morning reading is a great way to start your day). Pray, asking God to speak to you; read one chapter; journal your favorite verse or thoughts about the chapter and a prayer to God. On any day you might have something to share with others, post it on our Team Hally Facebook page or send a quick email to TeamHally2015@gmail.com!

It is so encouraging for all of us to share with one another. Here’s an example from our current study:
“Then David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.”
1 Samuel 27:1
How sad that after God had been so faithful to David that he chose to seek his own way, disobey God, leave God’s people, move to live with idol worshippers, react in fear, and choose discouragement and despair!  Sadly, how often am I just like David?

Dear Lord, Help me today to trust You over my fear and choose to obey you and dwell among your people and not succumb to discouragement and despair.

Praying that 2020 will be the year that God and His Word are your TOP PRIORITY and that you love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength!

TEAM HALLY GAME: A GREAT DAY IN MANHATTAN!

By K-State Basketball

We had a ball!

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the K-State women’s basketball game with us on January 19. We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces, and many new ones too!

Please click to enjoy the many photos submitted by our friends who also attended the game.

Below are words from some of our Team Hally followers about why they enjoy the Team Hally game every year:

The Team Hally game not only means a lot to the fans but it is a tradition that has been passed down over the years from player to player. This game and the relationship with the families involved in Team Hally mean a lot to us as players on and off the court. When I started at Kansas State, I didn’t know about the Team Hally events that went on. When I got on the team, the meaning behind it grew on me and it is now something I hold close to my heart and look forward to doing each year. Having the support behind not only the Yust family but the other families involved helps us as players feel supported and loved. The event after the game was a great time to be able to connect with the families and enjoy watching the Chiefs get a win! It was nice to be able to connect with different people from all ages enjoy each other’s company after such a meaningful game.”
K-State Sophomore Christianna Carr

What a special day for both our program and the entire Team Hally community to rally together to celebrate the life of Hally Yust. There was extra energy in Bramlage on Sunday from the tunnel walk to all the signs in the crowd; our team could feel it. This was another opportunity for our student-athletes to be impacted by something much bigger than the game of basketball. We are reminded of the love that Hally had for K-State and the women’s basketball program. Hally and the Yust family will forever be a part of our K-State family.
K-State Women’s Basketball Coach Sadie Thramer

I was excited to invite my basketball team from Christ Prep to the Team Hally game this year. I was able to tell them about Hally and her love for the Lord and the ministry of giving Bibles. It was so neat to see the connection to the K-State players and being able to pray for them and see them after the game. I aways enjoy going to the Team Hally game every year. Though I was only friends with Hally for a few years, I am thankful to God for her friendship and for the hope we have in Christ.
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defence to anyone who ask you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect
1 Peter 3:15

The Team Hally game is a special event because it gathers a community of friends and family to not just simply watch basketball and have a good time, but more importantly to give the opportunity to invest in lives. This investment happens as individuals from Team Hally intentionally pray for the players each week, looking for ways to encourage and support them as athletes, students, and friends. In the midst of the busyness of life we are unable to attend every game seeing all their ups and downs, and their wins and losses. But through prayer we have the opportunity to love, support and care for one another through all of life’s circumstances. I have attended the Team Hally Game every year and it is always so neat to see which relationships God grows deeper and to see who else He brings into your life.
