As we are in a new year, would you consider making reading the Bible a part of your daily routine? God loves you and wants to reveal Himself to you! He reveals Himself in the Bible! If you are unsure where to begin, we have a Bible reading plan that will give you a place to start. If you already are faithful in reading God’s Word, but would like to partner with other Team Hally members, we would love for you to join us.
Beginning Saturday, February 1 we will begin 2 Samuel chapter 1. It’s an easy plan! Just set aside a consistent time each day (morning reading is a great way to start your day). Pray, asking God to speak to you; read one chapter; journal your favorite verse or thoughts about the chapter and a prayer to God. It is so encouraging for all of us to share with one another. Here’s an example from our current study:
“Then David said in his heart, “Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.”
1 Samuel 27:1
How sad that after God had been so faithful to David that he chose to seek his own way, disobey God, leave God’s people, move to live with idol worshippers, react in fear, and choose discouragement and despair! Sadly, how often am I just like David?
Dear Lord, Help me today to trust You over my fear and choose to obey you and dwell among your people and not succumb to discouragement and despair.
Praying that 2020 will be the year that God and His Word are your TOP PRIORITY and that you love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength!
