Dirty Dash Funds Exceed $30,000

Many Thanks to Our Supporters! More than 400 people came out to get dirty and cheer on the runners/walkers at the September 21 Dirty Dash for Team Hally. Teams and individuals raised more than $30,000 to continue to fund Team Hally’s mission to distribute bibles. As you may imagine, we needed a lot of volunteers (thank you!) to make the day a success!

Special thanks to our Dirty Dash team captains and also to the K-State Women’s Basketball team for making the trek from Manhattan. Click to enjoy a video about the team’s involvement.

Plans are underway for Dirty Dash 2020. Watch TeamHally.org for the date and details!

Insight from Team Hally Supporter Lilly – While on a Mission Trip in Uganda

By Mission Trip

I was packing my day bag to visit an organization in a small church located in Kampala, Uganda. It was Sunday, and we had just returned from our morning church service which was a dance party with amazing worship music and a phenomenal sermon. I took my Hally Bible out of my bag and placed it on my bed. I thought to myself, I won’t need this any more today, and it will only be extra weight to carry around. But, as soon as I removed it, I felt as if I needed to put it back in my bag. I did return it to my bag, but had no idea why I needed to do that.

We walked through a slum to reach an extremely small room where women often to worship God and fellowship. Each woman went out of her way to shake my hand, give me a hug, and make me feel very welcome. My missions team was sitting on the small “stage” and one by one, we stood up to introduce ourselves and give a small testimony. Our testimonies were followed by more dancing and worship.

After that was over, I felt God telling me I needed to ask Ken, my family’s dear friend who is native to Uganda, if any of the women could read English. Ken found someone and I heard God telling me to get out my Hally Bible and give it to her. So, that is what I did.

Ken showed the Bible to her, read Hally’s story out loud in their language, and then told the woman that the Bible was for her. Immediately, the sweet woman yelled with joy and literally passed out from excitement. All of her friends danced and celebrated with her. She was so incredibly thankful. She hugged me many times and told me over and over how much it meant to her.

Ken later told me that her Bible would be one of very few in the entire village, and that the woman would read it and translate it to everyone else.

In that moment, I understood exactly why Hally had the mission to raise money for Bibles. It made me so happy to have the privilege to do what Hally worked so hard to do.

Partnership with Kansas City Hospice Kicks Off

By Community

Team Hally recently partnered with Kansas City Hospice to provide chaplains with Team Hally Bibles for patients and families on their service. The Bibles will also be used at Kansas City Hospice-sponsored camps around the Kansas City area.

Below is a photo of the chaplain team receiving the Bibles. Ralph Testerman, Lead Chaplain with Kansas City Hospice said, “Thank you again for the wonderful gift of the Bibles. They will be a great resource for those in need. Thank you just doesn’t seem like enough to express our gratitude. May the Lord continue to bless you in all you do.”

Medical Lodge

What’s New at the Medical Lodge?

By Community

Our June visit to the Medical Lodge of Gardner once again gave several Team Hally members the opportunity to shine Christ’s love and compassion to these precious residents.

We enjoyed doing a craft, having a snack, playing a game and reading God’s Word together. Our next visit is at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22. Please email us if you are interested in participating.

Bible Study

Bible Study at KS Water Ski Camp

By Bible Study

In the first week of June, Macy, Zoey, and I once again traveled to Maize, KS for the annual Kansas State Water Ski Camp.

Upon our arrival, we had the amazing opportunity to share our story of Hally with quite a few new ski families. We also invited each skier to the 2 Timothy Bible Study Macy and I would be leading each day during the camp. It was amazing to me that most campers chose to attend the daily Bible Study, to read God’s Word, and to share what they got out of the reading.

We had many wonderful opportunities throughout the week to share about Christ and to pray over individuals.I’m thanking God for His faithfulness to continue to use our family to point our water ski family to Christ and to share how He gives us hope each day!  2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

New Opportunities in June for VBS Bibles

By Community

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”  Isaiah 55:10-11

This summer Team Hally has had some new opportunities to partner with local churches to give Bibles. We’ve also been able to give Bibles to churches we’ve partnered with the past four years. I’m thanking God for all of the precious children and adults who have received His Word so far this summer. We’re praying that each of them will begin reading His Word so their faith may bring forth and sprout.

More Bibles

1000 More Bibles Arrived

By Bible Project

God’s Word continues to be spread through the Team Hally ministry as we were down to only four boxes of Bibles in May. We are so thankful for each of you who faithfully gives funds so we can purchase more Bibles.

The day we placed stickers in the 1000 new Bibles we ordered, we had an amazing turn out. Psalms 13:6 says, “I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.”

As I was watching the stickers being placed in the Bibles, it overwhelmed me how bountifully my God deals with me. He uses a broken and disorganized mama to send forth His Word to share the hope and love He has for each of us. We have distributed more than 900 Bibles in the past month, and we already need more Spanish Bibles.

We are so excited to see what God will do with our ministry the rest of the summer!

New Bible Study has Begun

By Bible Study

We are so excited to be reading in Leviticus for the Team Hally Bible Study. This book of the Bible shows us just how much Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross means for us as believers today. Before Jesus came to earth, when the people sinned, God required a blood sacrifice and a priest to pay the penalty for their sins. Leviticus explains the different types of sacrifice, and in detail, the requirements for the sinner as well as for the priest. Jesus changed ALL of these requirements for everyone! He took all of the sins of every person upon His shoulders so that we have a way to His Father and He became the only sacrifice needed. Hebrews 7:27 says, “He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for His own sins and then for those of the people, since He did this once for all when He offered up Himself.”

If you haven’t started Leviticus yet, just jump in on the current day, pray for God to speak to you, and read through the chapter. Choose a verse that stands out to you, write that verse (along with a prayer) in a journal, and then share what you are learning with someone close to you.

We will continue reading through the next five books of the Old Testament (Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges and Ruth) until November. The reading takes about fifteen minutes each day and will allow you to learn more about the God who loves you so much and desires to spend time with you every day!

We’re praying that each of you will join the Team Hally Bible Study!
